Bag Charms, Keyrings

Cancelled Motcombe School Event

I had to make a decision this morning about not attending a fair I had booked some months ago. It's difficult when you have spent a lot of time making displays to present the jewellery you have spent a lot of time making only to go along to a fair and get it wrecked by the weather. Last year I bought a gazebo which took a battering in the high winds but gave me some protection against the elements. Especially as we have such wonderful summers here in Britain!!! Anyway, I was planning on attending this school fete today but didn't find out that it wasn't in the school hall until this week when I made further enquiries. I had it in my head that it was inside for some reason, I think because I had attended fetes there before (not as a seller) and they were in the hall and the corridors. They were limited on space outside as well and were only allocating me table size space so my 10 foot gazebo was out too. Soooooo... this morning I had to make the difficult decision not to go and I feel a bit bad because I feel I have let them down. It was a pay on the day and they have reserved me a table but at the end of the day my table would really have been ruined. By the way, I have trees with tree preservation orders on in my garden and I've noticed this morning that a huge branch has snapped off and is hanging down towards my fence! This happened in the night with all the gales. We have not had flooding here fortunately but I have watched on tv the devastation that the poor people in Yorkshire have had over night. Anyway, I hope the fair goes well for them and they raise some funds for the school and if you were hoping to come along to see me then I'm sorry I couldn't make it. Hope everyone has a good weekend and fingers crossed no more damage to peoples homes. x

it's been a while!

Hi all
I've not posted anything on here for ages. Been very busy over the last year trying to get my business of the ground. Last year I attended lots of craft fairs and fetes at weekends. I also tried to support a few charity events too, last attending an Ladies Nite at the York House Hotel in aid of the Childrens Respite Trust. A very worthwhile charity that helps provide care & support for children with disabilities and their family.
I've got a busy weekend coming up next week, I'm attending events on Saturday and Sunday. Looking forward to the Raystede animal centre event on Sunday at Ringmer as I attended that one last year and it was beautiful weather (Sun June 24th 2012). Fingers crossed for the same weather again. Have a look at my events page on my website for a full list of events I'm attending this year.
You may notice that I have nothing booked in July and Aug this year. This is because I am giving up most of my free time to go on an archaeological dig here in Eastbourne! I'll keep you posted on that one......
Wonder if I'll dig up an old relic or just feel like one afterwards!!  :0)

Craft fairs

Well, been a while since i last found time to put anything on here. Busy busy trying to find craft fairs to attend this year. I decided to make a go of running a business and currently setting up a web page and source packaging and supplies etc etc!
Juggling home, family and my part time job has been somewhat challenging of late. I love making my jewellery but finding the time and the enthusiasm have been a bit of a problem for me this year.
I'm so looking forward to the Spring, lighter evenings and hopefully inspiration from somewhere!
Had a go at making a few Valentine items which I enjoyed and now need to focus on some prom jewellery. I wonder if I've got SAD syndrome.. roll on the Summer eh. x

update so far!!

Well...I'm new to this blog stuff so forgive me if I go on a bit but i thought I would kick off with what I like. My family is obviously the most important thing to me but other than that I like pigs(hence my photo).
My other passion is jewellery. Well anything with beads really, I love them. It started with a wire and bead class last year which set me off on my path. I then took a short silver course (making a couple of rings and a pendant), some beading lessons at a local shop (learning different beading stitches) , and a few days away to try PMC. (Precious Metal Clay) I then took an introductory course in polymer clay and made a few beads for myself. This was fun and reminded me of the pottery classes i attended in the 80's.
This sounds like I'm always beading but unfortunately I have to work too. Hey ho, I have to pay for my hobby somehow. Anyway here are a few of my creations, I even had a go at a couple of beaded baubles for Christmas. What do you think?
